Caitlyn R. Fitzpatrick
Caitlyn Fitzpatrick is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communications with a minor in Sports Management at Hampton University. With a strong academic foundation and multiple honors, she excellences with hands-on leadership in media, event planning, and community engagement.
Caitlyn has worked at the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications, where she currently serves as an Intern where she spearheads communications strategies, career fairs, town hall events, and all social media. She is also in Saber Sports as an Assistant Executive Producer, managing production, communications, and student athlete interviews. Beyond campus, she has served as a Summer Intern with the City of Cleveland’s Division of Recreation, where she worked closely with the community recreation programs while developing data and engagement tools.
Caitlyn is the co-founder and host of The Blackfluence Podcast, a platform dedicated to empowering young Black women by creating a safe space for honest dialogue, empowerment, and community impact. She further expanded her influence by hosting Hampton’s “Let’s Talk Sports” panel, where she helped break barriers and challenge stereotypes in the sports industry.
An active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Caitlyn is committed to service, scholarship, and uplifting her community. Her leadership extends into Freddye T. Davy Honors College and campus initiatives, where she regularly develops marketing campaigns, press releases, and branded content.
Caitlyn’s work and dedication have been recognized through prestigious scholarships, including the NBCU Fellows Scholarship, Scripps Howard Scholarship, Spotify Next Gen Scholarship, and the National Hampton Alumni Association Scholarship.
With expertise in communication, media relations, podcasting, and social media marketing, while having talents in technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Canva. Caitlyn brings creativity, organization, and leadership to every project she takes on. She aspires to pursue a career in sports media and communications, using her voice and platform to inspire the next generation.
